Goin' to Maine, goin' so fast

Maine!

We had a great trip to visit Jerome, Charlotte, Lucy and Georgia. The rain the state had been missing prior to our visit decided to settle in for the week we were there, but despite gray skies, we enjoyed the cooler temps and varied terrain. I could spend the whole summer in Bar Harbor.

On the one sunny day, we took full advantage -- I jogged, we all went to the beach, and then (because no one would nap), Elliott got to go on his first bike ride with his dad and uncle while I walked the girls on the carriage road. Our last day there was also full, but in the rain: we hiked to Bubble Rock and later went on a lobster/seal watching boat. The trip also included many other short hikes and lots of rock-throwing. "That was fun, Mom, at de ocean."

Lucy and Elliott, ever hugging, hand-holding and kissing, had a mini-make-out session on the lobster boat moments before Georgia almost took a bite out of a sea cucumber.
