How did it get to be June?

Elliott has been a busy little dude. He's been planting peas and peppers with his mama and his Grandma B, he hosted an art party in the backyard, he's been looking for ducks and dogs while in riding the jogging stroller so his mama could train for the Zooma Annapolis Half-Marathon she ran June 1 (photo is a post-race self-portrait at the Naval Academy
stadium).
He's even been to the gym childcare a few tim
es, which we hope to make use of more this summer once school is over and our sitter is off.We said goodbye to one music teacher, Holly, but will reconnect with another teacher we had previously when we take class with buddies Joey and Alex starting this week. We've been seeing a lot of Salome from playgroup as she lives very nearby and her mother is kind enough to watch the kids play sometimes while I try to make my house less outrageously messy and, one happy Saturday night, so John and I could go to a friend's suprise birthday party, sans kid. (It was one of the only times we've gotten to hang with our Bradley buddies without running toy interference and with actually getting to finish a sentence. And it was great to know Elliott was having a good time with friends.)Language
Elliott is talking up a storm. He comes up with sentences like "I sleeped with daddy in the hotel, the whole time" meaning he and John woke up together after I'd already left for the race. Today he looked at a framed photo of him and me from December and said, "That baby is laughing at you. Elliott is laughing at you." He likes to narrate what he's done, frequently saying things like "I see ducks TODAY," though he's less obsessed with the word "today" than he was perhaps a month ago, and now he's trying "yesterday" and "tomorrow" on for size. He sometimes gets the past tense.
He has lots of phrases for mistakes, like "The ___ fell down. Mommy get it" or "I spilled water on de tray" or "I got almond milk on my shirt" or "I dropped the pea on the floor." When he's less in control of his emotions he laments nearing tears, "My food! My food!"
The whole being two thing is more apparent these days, and we're hearing whining and massive mind-changes such that the minute you agree to something he's suggested/requested, he starts to pitch a fit and say, "No!" But once you agree to let it go, he wants the idea (or usually the food) back.

Well, it's 12:40 am and I got up this morning at 5:40, ran 13.23 miles and probably walked an additional three on very little sleep. Now the photos have loaded so I will change the laundry and go to bed. I'll keep writing and reorganize the photos soonish, I hope.
