Halloween

Here is our little clown on a lovely Halloween evening! On the porch swing earlier in the day are Henry the lion and Sawyer the bear.
The idea was that Elliott's hair made him a perfect candidate for a Bozo the Clown costume. I intended to use some product to stiffen and pooch out his hair, with some beet juice for color. For his face, I was also going to try beet juice or paste with flour on the nose and mouth, but that didn't work so well. The hair didn't really show the beet color and didn't get the length I anticipated; I probably needed to use the hair dryer, but he's not the biggest fan of that lately, and we were a little short on time. John tried using some of his own hair product after my Aveda stuff proved too wet. Elliott sure smelled like a salon. The consignment sale outfit looking fairly clown-y, I thought, but I went ahead and used some Burt's Bees lipstick on him to cinch the deal. And the boots helped, too, but they were a little big for walking in, so we reverted to the Pediped shoes after a while to get partway around the block.
And no, he didn't eat any candy, but he did chew on the paper end of a sucker stick for a while.
